Martin ("Marty") Nader grew up in Green Bay, WI, spending his summers (and winters) on the many lakes and rivers the Dairy State has to offer. He moved to Nebraska in 2008 after graduating from the University of Minnesota. He met his wife, Lyndie (from Hartington, NE), in 2010 while attending the University of Nebraska for graduate school. After earning his master's degree and Ph.D. in political science, he served as a professor at Doane University and then Nebraska Wesleyan University where he taught courses on American Government and Environmental Politics. For the last eight years, Marty has been a professor at Western Governors University (WGU), an online non-profit university, and Southeast Community College. He is also the co-host of the American Politics and U.S. Constitution podcast that helps people learn the basics of the American system of government.

Marty and Lyndie live in Lincoln with their children, Joslyn and Alexander.
